I didn’t really familiar of the thanksgiving day in the US, more so the turkey being prepared on this day. It was only when I when I was in my first American Company that I learned of that. I heard one of my officemates greeted our CEO of, “So when we’ll be having a turkey?” I asked her why. So ignorant of me that I did not know that.
Today, not only that I am hearing them greeting a happy thanksgiving day, I will also be enjoying this day because since we are working for our US clients we are also enjoying their holidays, and Thanksgiving Day is one of them. 25th and 26th of November this year is our off, in celebration of US Thanksgiving Day, we have it two days off, extension of celebration on the 2nd day 🙂 We thank our US clients for allowing us to enjoy a two-day off, time to relax. And Happy Thanksgiving Day to all of you too!
As per my research and blog-hop, Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada, during the fourth Thursday of November and second Monday of October respectively. Traditionally, it has been a time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. Associated with turkey, and that is why it is sometimes referred to as Turkey Day.
I have never experienced celebrating this special day in the US coz I am not a resident 🙁 , hopefully someday, wherein I will be witnessing how this holiday is being enjoyed and celebrated and give thanks to. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Happy Thanksgiving Day US! God bless you more!
