No to Plastic!

It is good to know that some of the places of the country like supermarkets, grocery stores, malls, public markets have declined using plastic. The local governments mandated using papers, paper bags or eco bags in lieu of plastic bags. In San Pablo City, Tiaong, Candelaria, Sto. Tomas Batangas, and some of the provinces, plastic has been suspended.  This is an important action against the flooding we often experience every time there are typhoons and heavy rains, wherein some areas look like a claw bathtubs because of the large volume of water. Garbage clogs in drainage, it floats everywhere, every time rains pour. Not only that, the bodies of water seem like there is a permanent inhabitant – the garbage.  You will see it when you travel by boat.

Just recently, Manila experienced heavy flood although there wasn’t any typhoon, only monsoon, but heavy volume of water was experienced and garbage floated and went on areas you never expected to be.

No to plastic is a good act of the government, hopefully the entire country implements it.

Till then,
