How Much NSD Costed Me

Months before my due date, my husband and I were already saving part of our earnings in order to be ready for my delivery. Giving birth is of course one of the expenditures that should be prepared for. Money is important, you badly need to have it.

Giving birth via CS would start from Php35K while NSD is lesser at Php15K pr Php20k, that’s solely for mothers. Every pregnant woman I am sure want to spend less, hence they’d like it delivered via NSD.

When I gave birth to our eldest, I spent more than Php19K, staying in the semi-private room for 2 days. This was at Community General Hospital in San Pablo City Laguna. And now, with our second baby whom I delivered also via NSD – costed me very cheaply at Php10,281 net of Philhealth. Imagine that affordable! I also had SSS and HMO maternity benefit amounting to Php32K and  Php6K respectively, tumubo pa kung tutuusin. But of course, I had no salary received from my company so the excess benefit I had was used in our daily commodities.

Pero nakakatuwa, I can’t believe that we only had that amount 😀 This was at Mother Teresa of Calcuta Medical Center, staying for 2 days in ward room. Yes ward – that was also the reason why I had this meager charge. It was okay naman to stay in a ward room, the costs of all the stuff used during my delivery were according also to the type of room I had 😉 Ang saya sa bulsa! Ngiting panalo sa lotto!

And the baby? Yes also to the cost, it was less than Php5K only. We were very fortunate that our baby is healthy we were discharged from the hospital together. Yung first baby ko kasi was more than Php20K because we left her at the hospital pa for 3 days to treat her bilirubin.

So for you pregnant mommies out there, you may want to consider delivering via NSD, you just need to be good in pushing!
